The End of the Road

The time has come for me to bring my website to an end. This is a decision that I have been wrestling with for about three years now and have finally come to grips with it.

My family has grown and now that Benjamin is active I want to spend more time with him and my wife. I simply don't have the time to put the amount of research together that I feel is necessary to make this site what I want it to be.

You probably noticed that I completely neglected the basketball team last season (and this one) and painfully did very close to the same with the baseball team. I was weening myself off but I wanted to get through one more football season.

When I started this website up 7 years ago I had no intention or idea that it would ever get beyond just my parents reading my longwinded complaints but it afforded me many contacts and experiences that I would never have come across otherwise. It has been a labor of love, and one that I took pride in doing.

It was always cool to be up in the stands at Olsen Field and see someone reading through a printed off copy of one of my regional previews, or for someone to come up to me at a basketball game and ask, "Hey, aren't you the guy with that website?"

I would like to thank the players for giving me something to write about and to the family members of those players who came to be email friends. I want to give a special thanks to my father and my father-in-law who are the real reason the little ticker number at the bottom of the page is as big as it is. Even more than them I'd like to thank my wife - who put up with the nuesence of me dissapearing for the evening while I was scrambling to get a game preview typed up and uploaded before the weekend hit.

I have started a sister site called Comments from Kyle Field where I will every once in a blue moon put together something I find interesting but it will be a rickety frail skeleton of this site. I'm also going to try and transfer some of the more interesting posts I've done here over to there but I am putting no time table on it and no guarantees that it will happen.

I'm not exactly sure when this page will turn into the classic "Page not found" but, as the t-shirt reads, I'll be in the stands if you need me.

Gig'em, God Bless, and B.T.H.O. t.u.! WHOOP!
